Wires RL

I am a big fan of Rugby League and i support the Warrington Wolves. I still call them the Wire. I have been a season ticket holder for the past 17 years. There's been lots of memorable times the good and the not so good. Especially when we was nearly relegated but Paul Cullen saved us and we stayed in the Super League.
Tony Smith in my opinion is an excellent coach. taking us to Wembley in 2009, 2010 and 2012 as well as the Grand Final in 2013. So three Wembley wins and runners up in a grand final is really good, this is my journey.
2009 Wembley Final

I traveled on the train from Warrington Bank Quay station, The Wire Flyer it was named, what an atmosphere the station was packed. Every one was singing and excited, i think Town center was empty that day. I think nearly the whole of Warrington's population went to show their support. The train journey was fantastic, everyone dressed in primrose and blue. There was eight of us travelling together, all family after all we go the matches together so it was only natural for us all to have a fab day out. I remember the free flags that was given to us was hung all over the carriages. When arriving at Wembley Station all the flags was hung out the windows and waved and cars were beeping their horns and everyone was cheering and chanting wire wire wire! It was fantastic and there was just a feeling that day the the Wolves was going to win.

Wires fans were out in force waving their flags. Tony Smith the coach & Adrian Morley the captain parading the cup

That was it Wembley winners 2009, Awesome!!!
And we did it the wire had won the final, the stadium erupted. The atmosphere was awesome it was electric. It was unbelievable and the challenge cup was paraded round the stadium by the team. I was lucky to get right at the front to get some pictures. The journey home was just as good everyone was well soaked up in the atmosphere. Singing on the train, waving their flags.
The homecoming parade in  the town center was packed. The streets were full, bank Park was packed waiting outside the Town Hall, everyone was singing and cheering.

Wembley 2010
The players ready to board the coach at Halliwell Jones Stadium. tons of supporters turned out to greet and wave the team off and give them good luck as they boarded the bus for Wembley.

We booked the Wire Flyer train Wembley finalist two years in a row and I thank Tony Smith the Warrington coach and Simon Moran for investing in the club and believing in the players and Adrian Morley the team captain who went to Australia and came back a better player signed for the Wires. An inspirational player.

Wembley day we boarded the train at Bank Quay station all ready for another Wembley final thriller. this time all dressed to impress. I was really excited and again the atmosphere was electric. The Warrington fans sure know how to give their support.

I decided it was time to join in the fun so I made some hats. The hat of mine was made of pictures of
Warrington players. Along with the Wires logo and the team colours of  Primrose and blue.

With the family outside Wembley stadium all ready for the match. With the hats and the flags and the poster we were all ready.

Waiting for the clash to start was an electric atmosphere fans chanting and singing then kick off and a brilliant win. What a cracking game.Wembley winners!!! 2nd year in a row, Right at the front awesome view of parading the cup.

The Wires bus in the home coming parade. The bus went right past my street, I remember walking into town following the bus. then ran to the town Hall to wait for them to arrive. Bank park was packed with supporters. The Wires bus was followed by many supporters to the Town Hall.

The team outside the Town Hall with a meal to celebrate with the mayor. The Wires flag is ready, all made by myself.

 Wembley 2012

I was in New York on wembley day in Central Park. I still had updates and what a win i sat in the John Lennon Memorial Garden Strawberry Fields when I got the message.
The  Wire had done it again we had won. Good job I took my flags and wore my Wires Top in New York. Even though I wasn't at Wembley I still celebrated in New York. Flying the flag in central park

I have had some memorable moments following the Wires I have seen the last match at Wilderspool and the first match at the Halliwell Jones. I had an opportunity to see one of my favourite players Adrian Morley.
